A set of Welsh pocket cards to assist Carmarthenshire County Council Community Carers to greet and converse in Welsh with patients and the elderly.
We were commissioned by Carmarthenshire County Council to develop a set of pocket cards for their Community Care Workers that included useful Welsh words and phrases to assist them to communicate with Welsh speaking patients and the elderly within the county.
We developed a set of 7 cards that included simple phrases such as Good morning and Goodbye, as well as cards with feelings, food, body parts, various rooms in the house, the time, and days of the week. As well as displaying the Welsh terms, the cards also explain how to pronounce the words in Welsh.
