It’s been a pleasure to work with Books Council Wales on the ‘Rhyngom’ project, funded by Welsh Government. We collaborated with various authors including Casia Wiliam, Manon Steffan Ros, Llinos Dafydd, Aneirin Karadog and Catrin Evans Thomas to create eight Welsh adaptations of some very popular English medium books including The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta and Binny’s Diwali by Thirty Umrigar.
The collection of books offers a chance for discussion and introduces stories in a light, ground-breaking way that celebrates diversity and promotes a wider representation on bookshelves in Wales.
The eight books are available to purchase through our online shop here
- Diwali Binny (Binny’s Diwali)
- Llygaid sy’n Cusanu yn y Corneli (Eyes that Kiss in the Corners)
- Y Glas Prydferthaf (The Proudest Blue)
- Beth Ddigwyddodd i TI? (What Happened to YOU?)
- Balch ohona i (Proud of Me)
- Rhyw Fath o Sbarc (A Kind of Spark)
- Y Fflamingo Du (The Black Flamingo)
- Fi, Fy Nhad a Phen draw’r Enfys (Me, my Dad and the End of the Rainbow)
There will be a collection of educational resources to accompany the 48 books of the Rhyngom project available on Hwb in September.
